CHICAGO, September 5, 2018 – The Association for the Health Care Environment (�߱�ţţ), of the American Hospital Association, announced today it was the recipient of two coveted Brandon Hall Gold Awards for Excellence in Learning; recognizing innovative design and measurable business results for the delivery of the Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) program in the following categories:

• Best Certification Program
• Best Results of a Learning Program

“In three short years, the CHEST program has trained nearly 700 trainers who have successfully prepared 2,670 front line technicians who now carry the CHEST credential. These technicians emerge from training more knowledgeable in the science of infection prevention, happier in their positions, more confident in their communication skills, and more engaged with the clinical staff,” says Patti Costello, �߱�ţţ Executive Director. “We are honored to receive two Gold awards recognizing the profound impact the CHEST program has made on participating health care organizations, their patients, staff, and the health care community. �߱�ţţ’s engagement with Bottom Line Performance (BLP) has resulted in an innovative training model with astonishing results.”

The Brandon Hall Excellence Awards recognize the best organizations that have successfully deployed programs, strategies, modalities, processes, systems, and tools that have achieved measurable results. Entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group Sr. Analysts and Executive Leadership, based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation, and overall measurable benefits. Less than 20% of entries evaluated win a Gold, Silver, or Bronze designation.

"Winning the Brandon Hall Award is as much a victory for BLP as it is for �߱�ţţ,” says Sandra Rials, �߱�ţţ Director of Education. “While �߱�ţţ had the vision, BLP's design and instructional strategies were the efforts that transformed vision into a best-in-class training and certification program. I remember reading through a number of great proposals for the CHEST project, but BLP's hit it out of the park. We knew then that we had to collaborate with BLP, and are so pleased that we did."

Sandra delivered a case study presentation on the CHEST program at BLP’s sold-out eXLearn conference on August 29, 2018.
